Founded in 1991 by the King family, King Estate is situated on 1,033 acres southwest of Eugene in the Willamette Valley. A working farm with 465 acres under vine, it is the embodiment of the family's deep commitment to sustainable farming - for both the Earth and for the quality of their wines. To that end, the Family obtained organic and biodynamic certification for their vineyards, making their cuvées pure expressions of varietal and terroir.
Stainless steel fermented and aged in French oak for eight months, the 2022 King Estate Inscription Pinot Noir is a big, bold wine that opens with bright, uplifting aromatics of raspberry, cranberry, and marionberry laced with leather, orange zest, rose, and caramel. This wine does not wait to develop on the palate; rather, it opens robustly with a rush of dark fruit and delicious cocoa notes. Initial flavors of black cherry, raspberry, cocoa, and red plum are joined by juniper berries, forest floor, clove, spice, cedar, and tobacco. The flavors continue to linger through a satisfying finish. (winemaker notes)

"What an aromatic roller-coaster ride. The first sniff of the glass yields bright red cherries and orange zest. Then you get a burst of roasted red peppers, followed by a shot of espresso. Restrained acidity and velvety tannins accompany raspberry, smoked cherry, and earthy oregano flavors. Great value here." (3/1/24)
