Sourced from vineyard sites throughout California, today's wine draws on growing areas suited to both varieties: Chenin Blanc's natural home in warmer California valleys where it builds ripe tropical fruit while retaining acidity, and Viognier's affinity for warm, well-drained sites where it develops its signature stone fruit and floral aromatics.
The 2022 Rosenblum Chenin Blanc Viognier is a 85/15 blend that leans firmly on Chenin Blanc's structure and freshness, with Viognier contributing aromatic lift and texture. Aromas of pineapples, apricots, peaches, and lemons lead alongside ripe stone fruits and delicate floral notes from the Viognier. The absence of oak and malolactic fermentation keeps the aromatics vivid and direct. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp acidity and a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Flavors of pineapples, peaches, nectarines, and citrus zest dominate, with a subtle honeyed note and clean fruit finish. Cold stainless steel fermentation, no malolactic conversion, and no oak aging preserve the wine's essential freshness and fruit purity from start to close.
