There is a Rhône renaissance going on in Australia; winemakers throughout the country are planting Rhône varietals and the results are pretty spectacular; winemaker and co-founder of Dandelion Vineyards Elena Brooks is leading the charge.

Bulgarian native Elena caught the wine bug from her mother, who worked in a winery. After cutting her teeth at wineries all over the world, she settled in McLarenVale with her husband, Zar Brooks, and together they established Dandelion Vineyards. Working in partnership with some of Australia's premier vignerons, they have put themselves on the wine map with their stunning cuvées. Elena is widely recognized to be one of Australia's rising winemaking stars. 

The 2022 Dandelion Vineyards Roussanne Honeypot of the Barossa is a monovarietal sourced from the remarkable O'Brien Vineyard in Barossa that was fermented and aged in stainless steel. James Halliday of the Australian Wine Companion rated it 90 points: "A brisk, crisp roussanne, pale in the glass and showing plenty of pure citrus drive along with notes of honeysuckle, white flowers, crushed stone, marzipan, green apple, and whiffs of almond paste and oyster shell. There's a gentle slink of texture on the palate and a wee wash of salinity before the wine coils and sails off with a tight, racy acid beat."
