You already know and love Santa Julia Winery, purveyors of high-on-quality, low-on-price wines that have been hugely successful Bin Ends email features (Santa Julia+ Malbec & Torrontes as well as the incredible Reserva Mountain Blend). Like the Mountain Blend, today's wine comes from Argentina's Uco Valley, located southeast of the city of Mendoza and along the Tunuyán River. Uco's high elevation (3000-4600 feet above sea level) and great sun exposure, alluvial soils, low rainfall, and wide day-to-night temperature variations bring forth ultra-ripe grapes - and it certainly shows in today's stunning wine.
Crafted from 100% cabernet sauvignon and aged in French oak for 10 months, the 2019 and 2020 Santa Julia Reserva Cabernet Sauvignons are lushly textured, loaded with black fruit flavors, and made compellingly complex with layered secondary characters. Check out the press!
