Winery founder Allan Scott was a novice when he started working in the industry. Dubbed an "accidental pioneer" by Wine Spectator, it was his first wine job experience planting vines for Montana Wines that made him see that the Marlborough terroir had the potential to catapult the region onto the world wine stage. Within a couple of years, Allan and his wife Catherine purchased a plot of land, planted a vineyard, and grew grapes to sell to other wineries, all the while planning to launch their own. Their dream was realized in 1990 when Allan Scott Family Winemakers - the first family-owned winery in Marlborough to craft wine with all estate-grown fruit - was born.

Not only is Allan Scott one of the rare vintners who have worked every single grape harvest in Marlborough, but he has also remained a leader in the region, with a track record of terrific wines. At the center of his impressive portfolio is today's stellar Sauvignon Blanc,* which is sourced from vines grown on the stony, free-draining mid-Wairau Valley river flats. The vineyards are sustainably managed, and the care lavished on them during the growing season is evident in the finished wine.

Fresh, zesty, juicy, and full, this fruit-driven new world-style wine will excite the senses without the racy overload.
