PRODUCT OVERVIEW:
The Reverdito winery in the municipality of La Morra was established in 2000 and represents the culmination of a journey started by Silvio Reverdito, whose dream was to establish a family winery in Piedmont. He started with the acquisition of La Morra’s Bricco Cogni Vineyard in 1967, followed by subsequent purchases of Ascheri, La Serra, and Castagni in La Morra, Badarina in Serralunga d’Alba, and Riva Rocca in Verduno. Silvio amassed 22 hectares of vineyards before his winery came into being.

The winery is now under the care of Silvio’s children Michele and Sabina, who, like their father, know that wine is ultimately made in the vineyards and that their main purpose is to be caretakers of the land who guide rather than manipulate the winemaking process. To this end, they cultivate their vineyards without the use of invasive chemicals or elements that could pollute the land, the groundwater, or the environment. Working with agronomist and consulting winemaker Beppe Vivalda, they produce wines that are pure expressions of varietals and terroir.

Today's offer is sourced from the winery's various vineyard holdings and is a glorious introduction to Barolo. It entices with floral aromatics as well as notes of red fruits; the medium-bodied palate is dominated by brambly raspberries and red cherries, with accents of savory herbs, star anise, and a hint of white pepper. Pliant tannins and balancing acidity bring the wine to a long finish.
