Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo has a history dating back several centuries but it has been owned and operated by the Amorim family since 1999. 

The estate has 85 hectares of vineyards planted along the right bank of the Duoro River. Believing in balance, harmony, and authenticity, the family lets the terroir do the talking in their wines, taking a non-interventionist approach to their craft. Grapes for each of their cuvées are hand-selected in order to achieve the perfect balance between ripeness and acidity as well as power and grace. 

A blend of 35% touriga franca, 35% touriga nacional, 15% tinta roriz, and 15%  tinto cão aged for 9 months in French oak, the 2022 Quinta Nova "Terroir Blend" Douro Tinto Reserva is rich and full-bodied, with aromas of ripe red and black berries and flavors of black raspberries, blueberries, and cassis laced with notes of vanilla, cocoa, toast, leather, and baking spices that unfold on the palate layer by glorious layer. Bright, juicy acidity keeps the wine light on its feet and brings it to a long and satisfying finish.
