Stephanie and Brian Terrizzi founded Broadside Wines with the goal of crafting juice that showcases the unique soils and topography of Paso Robles. Working with consulting winemaker extraordinaire Adam Lazarre, they absolutely nailed it, producing elegant, well-balanced wines that deftly display varietally correct fruit characters and convey a distinct sense of place.
The Broadside winemaking team approaches each wine as a blank canvas, thus capturing the vine’s personality, the soil in the vineyard, and the influence of mother nature. They source their grapes from sustainably farmed vineyards in order to preserve the purity of fruit and terroir. Today’s wine epitomizes the team's winemaking philosophy and style.*
The 2019 Broadside Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from vineyards in the AVAs of San Juan Creek and Santa Margarita Ranch, all within the larger Paso Robles AVA.
A blend of 82% cabernet sauvignon, 12% merlot, and 6% malbec, the wine offers heady aromas of cedar, cigar box, and blackberry with hints of olive. The lushly-textured, full-bodied palate is jam-packed with flavors of cassis, blackberry, and dark chocolate, with hints of cedar and woodsmoke and big, dusty tannins that provide structure and layers of complexity. It is, quite simply, amazing!
