PRODUCT OVERVIEW:
Isola dei Nuraghi is the main IGT (appellation) that covers all of Sardinia and represents the incredible diversity of viticultural gifts bestowed on the island. A maritime climate, ocean breezes, hillside and coastal vineyards, and soil diversity ranging from granite, limestone, and sandstone to mineral-rich clay and well-drained sand and gravel all contribute to the high quality of Sardinian wines.

Cantina Lillliu is owned and operated by second-generation winemaker Pietro Lilliu and his wife Roberta. Together, they farm two hectares of vineyards in Marmilla, located in the middle of the island and surrounded by hills that were deforested over a century ago, leaving Marmilla almost desert-like in the Summer. Pietro has miraculously created a perfect ecosystem in this challenging terrain. He farms naturally, and believes that being in sync with nature and creating an ecosystem of different trees and plants has allowed him to craft sophisticated, expressive wines. The 2020 Cantina Lilliu Isola dei Nuraghi Chida Rosso is a blend of 60% cannonau, 30% bovale, and 10% syrah fermented and aged in stainless steel in order to preserve the wine's generous fruit characters. Medium-to-full-bodied, it abounds with flavors of ripe black raspberries, cherries, and blackberries infused with subtle hints of bramble and bright, juicy acidity.
