PRODUCT OVERVIEW:
The name of the Cembra Cantina di Montagna cooperative means literally “Cembra Mountain Winery.” That’s because the cooperative, with its 400 or so member growers, is one of the highest-lying wineries in Italy, at roughly 700 meters ASL.

The winemaking facility is located in the town of Cembra in the heart of the Cembra Valley, the Avisio river valley, a left tributary of the Adige which flows through the heart of Trentino-Alto Adige. The soil types in the valley’s walls are predominantly volcanic in nature. As you drive up the steep road that leads through the valley, you can see the famous porphyry quarries, with their unmistakable reddish color.
The porphyry stone found in the Val di Cembra, one of Italy’s most beautiful and famous alpine river valleys, is used all over the world by top architects, designers, and artists. Its volcanic origins also make it ideal for the cultivation of fine wine grapes.

Tasting notes from the winery: "Ruby-red color with a delicate aroma evoking forest fruits and cherry. The palate is soft, with a full, pleasant sapid sensation which emphasizes its persistency".

PRODUCT REVIEWS:
91 Points James Suckling.com
"A fragrant pinot noir with a rather silky palate, this is pretty but understated, until you get to the finish where the tannins build steadily and you realize this isn’t as light as you thought. Drink now".
