PRODUCT OVERVIEW:
Domaine Albert Morot has been synonymous with AOC Beaune since 1820. This benchmark domaine has been continuously run by founder Albert Morot’s descendants. Since 2000, Albert’s great, great-grand-nephew Geoffroy Choppin de Janvry has run the family business and ushered it into a new era. Geoffroy and his team farm 8 hectares almost entirely in Premier Cru vineyards. The vines average 50 years of age and yields are kept low, between 25 to 35 hectoliters per hectare. This 1er cru vineyard site Bressandes is  1.27 hectares. (3 acres). The Domaine Albert Morot has holdings in 7 Premier Cru vineyards in Beaune as well as a monopole holding in Savigny-les-Beaune, La Bataillère aux Vergelesses. On average, Albert Morot's vines are 45 years old. The vineyards are farmed using organic viticultural practices and yields are kept low. Grapes are hand-harvested and destemmed prior to vinification. The wines are aged in 50 percent new oak barriques for 18 months prior to being bottled without filtration.

PRODUCT REVIEWS:
93 Points Wine Enthusiast:
Produced, like all this grower's wines, from organically grown grapes, this bottling has great fruit purity and dense tannins. Red-cherry fruitiness contrasts with the dark texture of a wine that needs to age.
