Saint Pierre is an island located in the Rhône River near the city of Arles and the Mediterranean Sea. Its well-drained, sedimentary soils and cooling breezes from the river and the sea bring forth bright, fresh wines that deftly balance ripe fruit characters and acidity. 

Domaine Isle Saint Pierre was founded in 1927 by Parisian wine merchant Pierre Chassaing and is currently managed by fourth-generation vigneron Julien Henry. Over the years the family has revitalized the property, carefully preserving a few of the original vines and planting new ones grafted to American rootstock, making them more resistant to disease. The continental climate of the island makes it well-suited to a wide variety of grapes.

The 2022 Domaine Isle Saint Pierre Rouge is a blend of cabernet franc, merlot, petit verdot, arinarnoa (a hybrid of cabernet sauvignon and tannat), and carménère fermented and aged in stainless steel. It is full-bodied and loaded with ripe, juicy red and black fruit characters (cassis, blackberries, black raspberries, and cherries) laced with notes of licorice and baking spice as well as vibrant acidity that brings it to a long finish.
