Introduction:
A refined and expressive red from Tuscany’s Maremma region, this Sangiovese exemplifies the balance of power and elegance. With depth, aromatic lift, and structure, it is a compelling representation of a single-vineyard expression crafted with great attention to detail.

Terrior:
Grown at 280 meters above sea level in the Poggio Valente vineyard near Pereta, this site benefits from southeast-facing slopes and well-draining sandstone soils. The Mediterranean climate, with cooling coastal breezes, supports a long, even ripening period, allowing Sangiovese to achieve full phenolic maturity while retaining freshness.

Appearance:
Bright ruby core with garnet flecks on the rim, showcasing youthful vibrancy and clarity.

Nose:
Lifted aromas of sour cherry, blood orange, and wild rose are layered with juniper, crushed herbs, dried violets, and subtle hints of pipe tobacco and underbrush. A touch of leather and balsamic spice rounds out the aromatic profile.

Palate:
Full-bodied and structured, the palate opens with ripe cherry and blackberry framed by firm yet silky tannins. The mid-palate reveals savory complexity—dried herbs, orange peel, and sweet spice—balanced by refreshing acidity and a smooth, almost velvety texture.

Finish:
Long and graceful, with lingering notes of black currant, savory herbs, and fine-grained tannins that echo the wine’s terroir-driven character.

Press:
95 points, James Suckling:
"Lots of rose petals on the nose, together with orange peel and cherries. Medium-bodied with very long and bright fruit character. Goes on for minutes, with so much energy and brightness. Drink or hold."

93 points, Decanter:
"Aromatic and intense, its ripe red and black cherry scents are balanced by earthy savoriness, with balsamic freshness, plenty of salinity, and fine, grippy tannins allied to flavors of ripe cherry and wild strawberry. It finishes long and balsamic with some oak spice, showing a sense of elegance from the estate's highest vineyard despite this wine's 15% alcohol."

Overall Impression:
This wine is a testament to what Sangiovese can achieve in the Maremma. It’s poised and age-worthy, yet already delivering impressive depth and charm. Ideal for pairing with roasted meats, aged cheeses, or Tuscan stews, it also rewards patient cellaring.
