Valle de Guadalupe is the key wine region in the state of Baja California, Mexico. Baja California, in turn, is responsible for 90 percent of Mexican wine production.

This Song of the Moon is a blend of equal parts of Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo and Syrah. Notes of raspberry jam, tobacco, freshly cut red berries, refined wood, vanilla and blackberries on the nose. Aged for 9 months in French and American oak. Food pairings: creamy chicken alfredo pasta, mexican garnachas, aged cheeses. Organic viticulture is practiced at the estate.

Finca La Carrodilla is a 1st generation winery in Valle de Guadalupe. It arose as a dream of the Pérez Castro Family (also owners of La Lomita winery) to honor the Virgen de los Viñedos.

Gustavo González (US born, Mexican heritage) is one of the most recognized winemakers in both California and Mexico. He was the head wine maker for Italy's famous Super Tuscan "Sassicaia" during the early 2000 vintages. From 2003 through 2012 he was responsible for all the red wines at Robert Mondavi Winery. Gustavo González graduated as a chemist from the University of Berkley and did his master's degree in Oenology at the University of Davis, California. With more than 20 years of experience in the art of making wine, as of 2015, he is in charge of the wines of Finca La Carrodilla as well as the other Perez Castro property named La Lomita also in Valle de Guadalupe.
