Oak Ridge is a multigenerational, family-owned estate established by Italian immigrants Angelo and Louise Maggio. They planted their first vines in 1928 and built their winery in 1934. Originally part of a cooperative that supplied fruit to winemakers all over the country, Oak Ridge was run by Angelo, his son, Roy, and later his grandson Rudy.
Rudy had ambitions to transform Oak Ridge into a self-sustaining operation that produced its own wines, and in 2002 set on that path by building a new, state-of-the-art winery. Today, Rudy’s three daughters oversee all operations at Oak Ridge and have increased the family’s vineyard holdings to over 2500 acres, all located in the Lodi AVA.
The 2022 Oak Ridge OZV Estate Grown Zinfandel is blended with 10% Petite Sirah, 5% Malbec, and 5% Petit Verdot. Aged for 12 months in a 50/50 combination of American and French oak, it is a full-bodied, silky-smooth wine with aromas and flavors of blackberries and Bing cherries laced with accents of vanilla and baking spices.

"This wine is fresh and vibrant, with aromas of dark cherry, raspberry, clove, black tea, violet, and notes of toasted vanilla. The flavors on the palate are red currant, strawberry, and blood orange zest layered with peach, allspice, and key lime vanilla cream, all leading to a supple, dry, jammy finish." (3/1/25)
