Spagyrie is a "New Latin" word for alchemy and the art and science of blending. In the making of this cuvée, Pierre and Daniela follow the grand principles of blending - separating, extracting, and combining - using the best of their three grape varieties to create a generous cuvée. Spagyrie is a blend of 25.5% pinot noir, 62% pinot meunier, and 8.5% chardonnay. The grapes are from 1er Cru vines in Villedommange, mainly “Les Braies” and “Les Mainberts” with sandy and calcareous clay soils. The red wine for the rosé blend is 100% pinot noir with 12 days of maceration. The alcoholic and malolactic fermentations were done in tanks, and the wine was aged in tanks for 5 months before bottling. The Champagne was disgorged with a dosage of 5g. Bottles were cellar-aged for  48 months. (importer notes)

The Fresne Ducret 'Spagyrie' 1er Cru Rosé has aromas of wild strawberries, raspberries, and red currants, with accents of blood oranges, rose petals, and fresh brioche. Subtle hints of spice lend depth and refinement. The palate is medium-bodied and poised, showing vibrant red berry fruit characters layered with citrus zest and subtle minerality. The mousse is fine and persistent, supporting a seamless interplay between freshness and creaminess. The finish is long and graceful, with lingering notes of red fruits and toast.  The finish is both refreshing and mouth-coating, leaving a polished impression of purity and finesse.
