PRODUCT OVERVIEW:
Guidobono is the creation of the Faccenda family and reflects their obsession with terroir. They make a range of wines from the Roero and Langhe hills, all of them outstanding values. Their vineyards are scattered throughout the area, with Castellinaldo in the Roero and Monforte in Barolo being particularly prized. The family has a knack for outperforming in almost every vintage. (importer notes)
The 2021 Guidobono Nebbiolo is made from grapes sourced from vineyards in Castagnito. After a 5 day maceration, the wine spends 8 months in 600-liter oak casks followed by an additional few months in stainless steel. Bottled one year after harvest, the wine is vibrant and generously-fruited, with flavors of ripe black cherry entwined with notes of violets and tar that are characteristic of this noble grape. Hints of baking spice add complexity and bright acidity brings this rich wine into beautiful balance.
