Ciavolich is a family-owned winery established in 1853. The vineyards are located in the province of Pescara, situated between the coast and the Gran Sasso of the Apennines. Cool air funnels in from the sea and mountains, while the range also keeps cloud cover away.* The wines embody this unique climate, with ripe fruit flavors and pitch perfect balance. Today, the winery and care of the vineyards are in the hands of Chiara Ciavolich, who continues her family's tradition of producing wines that are pure reflections of the marriage of grape and terroir.
The 2024 CIavolich Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is sourced from vineyards with soils of clay and loam and was vinified in stainless steel to preserve it's ebullient fruit profile. It has aromas of blackberries, black cherries, and blueberries that follow on the full-bodied palate. Accents of tobacco, graphite, and tea leaves add dimension; firm tannins give the wine structure without detracting from its silky texture. Lingering dark fruits bring the wine to a long finish.
