After purchasing Finca Villacreces in 2004, the Anton family reinvigorated their vines and noticed that some of their plots β those adjacent to the Duero on sandier soils β made an elegant and refreshing style of wine in comparison to the more dense and concentrated, classic Ribera del Duero from clay soils farther from the river. Pruno was born by combining fruit from both terroirs, making a wine that beautifully straddles the line between opulence and elegance. It represents one of the greatest values in Ribera del Duero coming entirely from estate vineyards.*
The 2020 "Pruno" has a fine lineage; it is sourced from plots bordering vineyards from renowned estates Vega Sicilia and Pingus. Aged in seasoned oak barrels for twelve months, it abounds with flavors of black cherries and blackberries laced with toffee, licorice, and hints of baking spice. Silky smooth on the mid-palate, the wine finishes long, with firm yet pliant tannins.

90 points, James Suckling:
"Red cherries, raspberries, coffee, and spices on the nose, following through to a juicy, medium-bodied palate with sappy red-berry fruit and tight tannins. A crunchy expression of Ribera del Duero. 90% tempranillo and 10% cabernet sauvignon."
ABV: 14%
