Introduction:
The 2022 Quinta Nova “Terroir Blend” Reserva is a commanding yet elegant red from the Douro Valley. Crafted from Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, and Tinto Cão, it embodies both power and finesse—delivering layered dark fruit, refined structure, and a precise mineral edge.

Terroir:
From steep, schist-rich terraces in the Douro Valley’s Cima Corgo subregion, the vineyards benefit from intense sunlight, well-drained soils, and dramatic elevation changes. These conditions foster concentrated fruit, vivid aromatics, and a taut mineral character.

Appearance:
Deep ruby-purple—dense, saturated, and visually impressive.

Nose:
Complex and inviting, with wild berries, cassis, and blueberry aromas, enriched by floral echoes and warm spice—the bouquet is both lush and sophisticated.

Palate:
Full-bodied and textured, combining rich flavors of black raspberries, dark plums, and cassis with nuances of vanilla, cocoa, toasted spice, leather, and subtle espresso. The wine balances muscular structure with juicy vitality.

Finish:
Tense, long, and layered—fruit and spice persist over a firm yet vibrant mineral backbone, with well-integrated oak adding finesse.

Overall Impression:
This Reserva is a masterclass in Douro expression—powerful yet refined. It marries luscious dark fruit, floral spice, and schist-driven minerality in a seamless, multidimensional package. Firm tannins and fresh acidity provide both structure and energy, while the integration of oak gently enhances complexity. It’s both immediate and cellaring-worthy—a wine of harmony, depth, and true terroir clarity.
