PRODUCT OVERVIEW/REVIEW:
Ridge has made Zinfandel from the Pagani Ranch Vineyard for over 30 years. Most of the vines are between 90 and 120 years old and produce grapes of immense ripeness and fruit concentration that is reflected in the finished wines. Today's offer is a blend of 90% zinfandel, 6% petite sirah, and 4% alicante bouschet aged for 14 months in a combination of new and seasoned Amerian oak barrels. It has "rich plum and pipe tobacco on the nose. It is full-bodied on the palate, with boysenberry, ripe black cherry, and pepper. It's well-balanced, with lively acidity and a long, layered finish."
