Introduction:
2022 Dominio de Pingus PSI is the more accessible bottling from Peter Sisseck’s esteemed Pingus projects, yet it’s no lightweight.

Terroir:
Sourced from old-vine vineyards (over 600 micro-parcels) at high elevation. Soils are clay-limestone with significant old vine expression. The vintage 2022 was favorable: good ripeness, strong phenolics, balanced acidity, and relatively low new wood influence to highlight the fruit.

Tasting notes:
The 2022 PSI has aromas of cherries, pomegranates, and wild berries mingled with herbs and a subtle floral lift. There are touches of cedar, earth, and graphite that add complexity without dominating. The palate is full-bodied, with red and black cherries, pomegranates, and an impressive structure. Fine, polished tannins frame the core of fruit, while herbal notes, subtle oak spice, and a mineral backbone keep the wine lifted. The influence of old vines gives texture and depth. The finish is long and persistent, with fresh acidity, red berries, herbaceous and mineral nuances, and gentle oak spice.

Press:
94 points, Wine Advocate:
"The bottled 2022 PSI follows the character of the sample I tasted last year: it's clean, expressive, and open. It's perfumed, elegant, floral, and quite attractive, and does not transmit any heat. In fact, it has contained ripeness and around 13.8% alcohol. They have improved the selection tremendously, and the wine has gained in precision; it's better each year. There is something that reminds me of the old vintages of Pesquera (1994 and before), with notes of orange peel and aromatic herbs."

93 points, Vinous:
"Ripe plum, cherry, and herbal aromas mingle with a balsamic touch, soft cedar, and a hint of prune. The palate is juicy and creamy in texture, defined by firm, fine-grained tannins and moderate structure. Concentration comes from the old vines, while lively acidity balances the fine tannins."

Overall Impression:
The 2022 PSI is an impressive expression of Ribera del Duero: bright fruit, elegant structure, and fine tannins combine with herbal complexity and a strong sense of place. It delivers power without excessive weight, making it compelling now but with even better rewards if cellared for a few years.
