Dan and Margaret Duckhorn established their winery back in 1976 with the goal of becoming one of the premier producers of wine in the Napa Valley. Acquisition of some of the best vineyard sites in the valley proved to be a key element in their success. From their modest inaugural vintage, which only produced about 800 cases, they managed to captivate the attention of wine lovers the world over with their exquisite cabernets and merlots. To this day, their wines are widely praised by critics, sommeliers, and collectors.
A blend of 94% cabernet sauvignon, 5% merlot, and 1% cabernet franc aged for16 months in 50% new and 50% neutral French oak barrels, the 2022 Duckhorn Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley has captivating aromas of dark red berries and cardamom, leading the way to a defined palate that showcases flavors of fig jam and boysenberry pie. Firm, dusty tannins provide a sturdy foundation, guiding you to a long, focused finish that denotes a harmonious blend of mountain and valley floor fruit. (winery notes)
