PRODUCT OVERVIEW:
Kinsella Estates consists of three vineyards: Spencer, Jersey Boys, and Heirloom, all situated in the Dry Creek AVA. Winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown, along with vineyard manager Josh Brown and viticulturalist Kelly Maher, hand-selected the varietal clones to be planted at each site in order to achieve the finest expression of the marriage of grape and terroir in each of their cuvées. While they all agree that these well-made decisions have played a part in the quality of their wines, they all know it is the terroir that is the driving force behind their success.
The 2016 Spencer Vineyard Zinfandel is an immensely powerful wine of great depth, with black fruit aromas and a palate redolent with flavors of black cherries, plums, and blueberries laced with notes of brown sugar and baking spices, toast, and brambly earth. Grippy tannins provide structure without detracting from the wine's silky mouthfeel.

"Plump and zesty, yet well-structured, with expressive raspberry, toasted spice, and licorice flavors that take on richness toward refined tannins."
