Domaine des Terres de Velle was established in 2009 by Burgundian natives Sophie and Fabrice Laronze. They purchased an existing domain based in Auxey-Duresses that was in a state of disrepair;
they revitalized the vineyards, purchased more land, built a new winery, and set about the business of crafting wines. Armed with an enology degree, several years of experience working at wineries around the world, and ten years working for famed negotiant Alex Gambal, winemaker Fabrice has quickly established himself as a world-class craftsman with a lineup of cuvées that are gorgeous expressions of fruit and terroir.
The 2022 Domaine des Terres de Velle Meursault has a nose of pears, apricots, brioche, and a hint of baking spices. The palate is full-bodied and lushly textured, with flavors of citrus fruits, peaches, and apricots laced with notes of vanilla, toast, and subtle hints of minerality. The palate is infused with bright acidity that balances the rich flavors and textures and brings the wine to a long finish.
