Introduction:
A refined and concentrated expression of Chianti Classico, this Gran Selezione from Isola delle Falcòle delivers depth, elegance, and a vivid sense of terroir. Richly textured and age-worthy, it balances power and poise in true top-tier Tuscan style.

Terrior:
Grapes are sourced from the estate’s oldest, highest-elevation Sangiovese vineyards (450–500 m) on southeast-facing slopes in the heart of Chianti Classico. Soils are a mix of limestone and galestro (crumbly schist), offering excellent drainage and contributing to the wine’s mineral backbone. Cool nights and warm days ensure full phenolic ripeness while preserving freshness.

Appearance:
Deep ruby with garnet undertones. Clear, with a youthful, luminous presence.

Nose:
Elegant and layered, opening with aromas of ripe black cherry, sous-bois, and dried rose petals. Secondary notes of leather, black tea, dark plums, and dusty tobacco add depth, while subtle spice—cinnamon and clove—emerges with air.

Palate:
Full-bodied yet graceful, with rich flavors of black cherry, plum compote, and wild berry. A savory thread unfolds mid-palate—sage, bay leaf, Mediterranean herbs—alongside hints of dark chocolate and tobacco. Tannins are refined and chalky, framing the palate and balanced by vibrant acidity and a firm mineral spine.

Finish:
Long and persistent, with black fruit, savory herb echoes, and a refined, lingering mineral impression that persists through a polished close.

Overall Impression:
This Gran Selezione is a stellar example of estate-grown Sangiovese at its best: complex, structured, and elegantly layered. Ready to enjoy now with decanting, it will also reward cellaring over the next 8–12 years. Ideal with game meats, aged Pecorino Toscano, or rich stews.
