Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo has a history dating back several centuries but it has been owned and operated by the Amorim family since 1999.
The estate has 85 hectares of vineyards planted along the right bank of the Duoro River. Believing in balance, harmony, and authenticity, the family lets the terroir do the talking in their wines, taking a non-interventionist approach to their craft. Grapes for each of their cuvées are hand-selected in order to achieve the perfect balance between ripeness and acidity as well as power and grace.
The wine, a blend of touriga nacional, tinta roriz, touriga franca, and tinto cão has aromas and flavors of blackberries and blueberries laced with hints of wet stone. The palate is very concentrated and well-structured yet silky smooth, with a long, full finish that begs you to take another sip.
