Verdicchio is an Italian varietal that grows abundantly in central Italy, primarily in the Marche region. Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi is a white-wine DOC located in the Marche region of central Italy. (wine-searcher.com)

Tenuta dell'Ugolino is one of the preeminent producers of Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi. Owned by the Petrini family, the estate was founded in 1980 as a traditional farm, but second-generation caretaker Andrea transformed it into a winery. With eight hectares planted to vines, the winery is small enough so that the family has plenty of time to lavish attention on the vines throughout the year and oversee all aspects of the winemaking process.

The Tenuta dell'Ugolino Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi "Le Piaole" is crisp and dry, with subtle aromas and flavors of white peaches, lemons, and apples laced with touches of wet stone and almonds on the long finish. Pair it with light pasta dishes, chicken, or seafood, or savor it sans cuisine on a sunny afternoon.

ABV: 13%
