Established by 40-year wine trade veteran Allan Scott in 1990, this namesake operation was one of the first independent wineries to be established in Marlborough. From the release of their very first vintage, Allan Scott Family Winemakers has gone on to become one of the benchmark producers in the famous region of Marlborough on the South Island of New Zealand with a nearly unmatched reputation for quality and value. Today, the property is still family-run with winemaking duties handled by Allan's son Josh Scott.
The Allan Scott Family Winemakers' vineyards are largely planted on the stony, free-draining mid-Wairau Valley river flats. The vineyards are sustainably managed, and the care lavished on the vineyards during the growing season brings forth some of the world’s greatest Sauvignon Blancs.
#23 Wine Spectator Top 100 for 2020
"Supple and succulent, offering a generous and juicy mix of passion fruit, Key lime and ruby grapefruit flavors. Expressive and strong on the finish, with touches of freshly grated ginger and green tea. Drink now."
Wine Orbit: Rated 94 Points
“It’s intensely aromatic and instantly appealing on the nose showing grapefruit, Granny Smith apple, nectarine and lime peel aromas, leading to a concentrated palate that’s lively and flavoursome. It’s punchy and vibrant with excellent varietal purity, finishing long and refreshing. At its best: now to 2023.” Sam Kim

The 2020 Sauvignon Blanc is an early release vineyard off our Millstone block, one of the earlier planted blocks in Marlborough it’s in the heart of Rapaura.
Wines from this area are grown in very alluvial soils that produce wines with brilliant acidity and purity.
Harvest 2020 has been a super harvest, maybe one of the better ones Marlborough has seen for the last 20 years. Great sunshine hours, low disease pressure, light crops, and ripe fruit, all come together to produce some outstanding fruit and in turn some great wines.
The grapes are machine harvested and immediately pressed in the cool of the night. The juice is maintained at cool temperatures to ensure the aromatics are not lost. Cleared juice is then fermented to dryness at cool temperatures with specifically selected yeasts. We then selected the pick of the tanks for blending into a wonderful fresh expression for bottling.
