PRODUCT OVERVIEW:
Bodegas Yllera was founded in 1970 and produces wines from the renowned Ribera del Duero and Rueda appellations. The Yllera family has been crafting wine for six generations and was instrumental in getting these regions the recognition they deserved on the world wine stage. Their reverence for tradition and innovation has resulted in top-notch wines that are pure expressions of varietal and terroir.
Crafted from tempranillo sourced from 30-year-old vines (pro tip: older vines have lower yields and the fruit is super ripe and concentrated), stainless-steel fermented and aged in oak for 12 months, the "Campo de bueyes" has a nose of red and black fruits followed by fleshy palate redolent with cassis and black cherry layered with vanilla, toast, and sweet baking spices. Refreshing acidity on the long finish brings balance and structure.

92 points, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"This is super perfumed and floral, very clean, impressive, and elegant. It's medium-bodied and fresh, with very fine, chalky tannins; it's delicious and approachable, with complexity and very affordable pricing. 50,000 bottles produced. It's been in bottle since June 2018, and it's evolving at a very slow pace." (1/31/23)
