The Vaccaro family has been cultivating grapes and making wine for three generations. Founder Giuseppe Vaccaro knew that his land, located in the province of Palermo, had the soil and weather conditions to make great wines. Starting with native grapes catarratto and nerello mascalese, then with his son Calogero expanding his holdings to include vineyards planted to nero d'avola, grillo, and syrah, he let the terroir be the guiding force that drove the quality of his beautiful cuvées. Today, his son and grandson Giuseppe have taken over the winery and continue to produce incredible wines.

The 2019 Case Alte Nero d'Avola Filari 16, vinified in stainless steel and aged for 8 months in oak casks, is medium-to-full-bodied, with aromas of blackberries, cherries, and raspberries that follow on the palate. Accents of rosemary, tobacco, and baking spice unfold on the palate and bring the wine to a long finish.
