Formerly called Estremadura, Lisboa is generating quite a bit of buzz among wine lovers in the know; despite its growing popularity, it remains a major source of wines that slay the price-to-quality ratio. If you want serious bang for your buck, Lisboa is a wine destination worthy of your consideration.
The 2022 Caves Velhas Romeira Branco Vinho Regional is a blend of arinto, chardonnay, and fernão pires. Lively and bright, it has aromas of apple, pear, Honeydew melon, and wet stone that follow on the palate. Subtle hints of herbs and white pepper appear on the long finish.

"This has an attractive nose of jasmine, chopped apples, lemons, and fresh pears. Saline and refreshing on the palate, light-bodied, with crisp acidity and a clean finish." (89 points, James Suckling, 9/2/23)
