This offer is the second label of Ployez-Jacquemart, a family-owned estate established in 1930 by Marcel Ployez and his wife Yvonne Jacquemart. The keys to the family's success have been an in-depth knowledge of the terroirs of Champagne, an unwavering pursuit of excellence, and of course, land. With pinot noir and pinot meunier vineyards in the Premier and Grands Crus villages of Ludes and Mailly Champagne, Villedommange, and Vertus as well as long-standing relationships with other winegrowers, primarily in the Grands Crus chardonnay villages, the Ployez-Jacquemarts have been crafting award-winning Champagnes year after year. Today's offer is simply stellar!
The Marie Weiss NV Brut is a blend of 50% pinot noir, 25% pinot meunier and 25% chardonnay from the Montagne de Reims and the Côte des Blancs, with about half of the juice sourced from 1er and Grand Cru vineyards. An incredible value for the price, it is "a vivacious Champagne, offering a toasty overtone that enriches the pure fruit flavors of crushed black currant and cherry fruit, with accents of lime blossom, anise, and ginger cream. Well-balanced, with a creamy bead and a lot of personality." - 91 points, Wine Spectator (11/30/20)
