PRODUCT OVERVIEW:
In 1990, Jean Bousquet, a third-generation winemaker from Carcassonne, France, took a vacation in Argentina that altered the course of his life. A visionary who saw vast potential before anyone else, he fell in love with the rugged terrain of the Gualtallary Valley, in the Tupungato district of the Uco Valley in Argentina’s Mendoza region.
At a time when this formidable, desert-like land was untouched territory devoid of any plantings, Bousquet believed that the valley was capable of bringing forth world-class wines. Eschewing the locals' opinions and advice, he put down roots here, established a winery, and was instrumental in making it one of Argentina's most prestigious appellations. Today, Jean's daughter Anne and her husband Labid Al Ameri run the estate and continue her father's tradition of crafting top-notch, French-inspired New World wines.
The 2021 Domaine Bousquet Reserve Pinot Noir is sourced from Gualtallary vineyards situated 4000 feet above sea level. Aged for 10 months in French oak, it is plush and silky, with aromas of strawberries raspberries, and cherries that follow on the generous palate.

92 points, James Suckling:
"Savory nutmeg, coca-cola, and earthy raspberries and strawberries. Orange peel, too. There is a fine mineral accent on the medium-bodied palate. Succulent and textured pinot. Well made. From organically grown grapes." (3/3/22)
