Pouillly-Fuissé is the most well-known appellation in the Mâconnais. Its hillside vineyards and soils rich in clay, limestone, and granite bring forth wines with rich fruit and complex, terroir-driven characters. 

Today's wine comes from the Jacquet/Corsin family; they have been making wine here in the Mâconnais for six generations, with holdings in Pouilly-Fuissé, Davayé, and Solutré. Widely considered to be among the region's finest winemakers, they have been instrumental in elevating the quality of Mâconnais wines to where they are today. 

The 2022 Domaine Corsin Pouilly-Fuissé Vielles Vignes deftly balances opulence and elegance. It is sourced from 55-year-old vines (pro tip: old vines have lower yields but the fruit is very ripe and concentrated) and aged on the lees in a combination of new and seasoned oak barrels for 10 months. Its nose of brioche, wet stone, and citrus and stone fruits lead to a creamy-textured palate resplendent with flavors of lemon zest and Granny Smith apples infused with subtle accents of vanilla, toast, spice, and balancing acidity.
