Introduction: Domaine Hubert Bouzereau Gruère et Filles is a generational Meursault estate with roots going back seven generations through the Bouzereau family. When daughters Marie-Laure and Marie-Anne joined their father Hubert in 2001 — forming the current domaine name — they brought a fresh energy to a 10-hectare estate that spans six Côte de Beaune communes and produces wines of genuine refinement. Les Tillets is their village-level Meursault — a single lieu-dit expression from two plots on the mid-to-upper slope that consistently delivers more character and precision than its classification might suggest.

Terroir: Les Tillets sits on the hillside above Meursault, positioned between Les Narvaux above and Les Clous below, in a zone where the limestone and clay soils are shallower and the exposure more direct — conditions that favor mineral intensity and aromatic precision over the broader, richer profile of lower-slope parcels. The domaine's 0.83-hectare holding includes vines first planted in 1961, giving the wine genuine depth and concentration. Sarah Marsh MW, reviewing the 2022 vintage for World of Fine Wine, noted that the estate vines here have court noué (fan leaf virus), which reduces yield to roughly half normal — intensifying the wine's character and pushing alcohol slightly higher than typical for the appellation.

Appearance: Pale to medium gold with green highlights, brilliant and clear, with a lively viscosity in the glass.

Nose: Bright and precise — grapefruit, lemon zest, and citrus blossom lead, with notes of white peach, almond, and a flinty, mineral underpinning. The oak is subtle and well-integrated at 25% new wood, adding a gentle nuttiness without obscuring the wine's essential freshness. Marsh described the 2022 Les Tillets as showing "intense citrus aroma, with a concentrated, rich profile for Tillets."

Palate: Medium- to full-bodied for a village Meursault, with good texture from the year of lees aging and regular bâtonnage. Flavors of lemon pith, white peach, almond, and vanilla move across the palate with lively acidity and a mineral tension that tightens on the finish. Marsh noted "lemon pith on the zesty, bitter palate — taut, with an almond-kernel note to the end." The domaine's own description adds "beautiful minerality which awakens the taste buds, notes of grapefruit and lemon, oak present but only slightly, pairing delicately with the bouquet."

Finish: Medium-plus in length, with a clean, mineral-driven close and a lingering note of almond skin, lemon oil, and chalky stone. Fresh and focused throughout.

Food Pairings:
🥩 Meat: Roasted chicken with tarragon cream sauce, pan-seared halibut with beurre blanc, or veal with morel mushrooms.
🥦 Vegetarian: Gratin dauphinois, leek and Gruyère tart, or white asparagus with hollandaise.
🧀 Charcuterie Board: Aged Comté, mild Époisses, smoked salmon, Dijon mustard, and sourdough crackers.

Overall Impression: A textbook village Meursault from an impeccable family estate — precise, mineral, and built with the kind of structural integrity that rewards short-term cellaring. The 2022 vintage delivered concentrated, rich fruit with a taut, zesty edge, and Marsh recommends enjoying from 2026 onward. Serve at 52–55°F; drink 2026–2030+.
