PRODUCT OVERVIEW:
"Claré J.C. is a Nebbiolo made according to a 1606 note from the House of Savoia jeweler Gian Battista Croce. This wine is a time-capsule into an era when Nebbiolo wines tasted fresher, lifted and slightly crisp. Crafted from 100% Nebbiolo,  25% of the fruit was gently placed in whole-clusters at the bottom of the vat, and topped up with crushed juice. After 5 days, wine was racked into a closed tank to finish fermentation off the skins, for a more gentle extraction. The malolactic fermentation took place in stainless steel. The 2023 Vajra Nebbiolo Claré J.C. was bottled in February 2022, after a very short period in vat, so to retain the most freshness into the bottle.

Bright red ruby color. The aromas of cherries, cherry stone, candid pear and pomegranate nectar are vivid in 2023 JC Claré. This complex bouquet is completed by orange blossom, sweet spices and lifted mineral tones. The mouthfeel is vibrant, with red fruits and the sweet spices refreshed by a zesty acidity. This versatile wine may be served slightly chilled  and truly shines when paired with a broad range of diverse food, from cheese & charcuterie to Thanksgiving turkey and BBQs.
