PRODUCT OVERVIEW/REVIEWS:
Howard Park is one of Western Australia’s pioneering family-owned wineries with vineyards in the premier grape-growing regions of Margaret River and the Great Southern. Established by Jeff and Amy Burch in 1986, Howard Park is a family endeavor that has included the selection, acquisition, and development of four exceptional estate vineyards across both regions, as well as a winery and "cellar door" in Margaret River. The winery is led by legendary winemaker and winner of the 2018 Gourmet Traveller Wine Magazine ‘Winemaker of the Year’ award, Janice McDonald. Howard Park is also a proud member of Australia’s First Families of Wine (AFFW), a collective of twelve multi-generational family-owned wine producers. Together, these wineries represent seventeen appellations across Australia and forty-eight generations of winemakers. (importer and winemaker notes)
Today's cabernet has aromas of black fruits, violets, and herbs. The full-bodied palate is redolent with flavors of cassis and blackberries laced with forest floor, vanilla, toast, baking spice, and mocha that lingers on the long finish. Check out the press!
95 points, James Suckling:
"Very beautiful cabernet with blackcurrants, currants, and mint. Very intense spicy aromas. It’s full-bodied with chewy tannins and a fresh, driven finish. Very linear tannins run the length of the wine and give it drive at the end." (11/7/22)
