PRODUCT OVERVIEW:
The Colli Berici is an Italian wine appellation, a DOC of the Veneto region in the north-east of Italy, midway between the cities of Padova and Verona, just south of Vicenza. It covers a wide range of wine styles including red, white and rosé. The Colli Berici are a group of hills (or "colli") which rise up from the alluvial plains south Vicenza, just east of the Soave region. The name is taken from the hills' most notable look-out, Monte Berico, which enjoys an impressive panoramic view over the city of Vicenza.
Carmenère is the oft-overlooked sixth red grape of Bordeaux, and the Inama family has launched a major exploration into the possibilities for Carmenère in Italy, and their Carmenère Più is the main product of this effort. Carmenère is a pre-phylloxera staple of Bordeaux wines that was brought to the Colli Berici area of Veneto at least a century and a half ago.
The Inama family have been producing wine for over fifty years.
The Inama family is now in their third generation of wine-growing and winemaking, and they have set a well-defined goal to produce unique wines in order to represent their vision of land, without getting caught up in the styles and trends of the moment.
