PRODUCT OVERVIEW:
João Portugal Ramos, the man behind today's offer, was instrumental in changing the course of Portugal's wine industry. The country's premier consulting winemaker for decades as well as the owner of several wineries under the João Portugal Ramos Vinhos umbrella, Ramos was the driving force behind the mass adaptation of modern winemaking technologies and low yields, both of which have greatly increased the quality of wines coming out of this tiny but mighty country.

Alentejo is a large geographical area in Portugal located south of the Tejo River that encompasses about 30% of the country's landmass. Its growing season is, for the most part, hot and dry, but its diversity of soils and terrain make it hospitable to many grape varietals. Alentejo received DOC status in 2003, thus enhancing the region's reputation as a producer of high-quality wines.

The 2023 Marquês de Borba Branco is a blend of Arinto, Antão Vaz, and Viognier sourced from vineyards with soils composed of limestone and schist. Stainless-steel fermented, it has aromas of lemon peel and wet stone that follow on the lushly textured palate. Accents of herbs, honeydew melon, and tangerine unfold on the mid-palate; the wine finishes long with tangy, juicy acidity.
