If you have ever had the opportunity to travel across France, you have no doubt come across a Nicolas Wine Merchant. As ubiquitous as the local boulangerie, these small shops with red and yellow facades can be found in major cities and small villages all across France from Paris, Bordeaux, Lyon, and beyond.
Established in 1822, Nicolas is that old-school wine shop where customers pick up their everyday bottle to enjoy with friends and family alongside a home-cooked meal. Today, we bring you a delicious French cabernet sauvignon from that one and only Maison Nicolas.
We are so excited about today's offer because it offers the same high quality as our last feature from Maison Nicolas. Varietally correct, absolutely delicious, and coming in at $8.66 per bottle, this wine is another home run!
The 2021 Maison Nicolas Cabernet Sauvignon has aromas of back currants laced with clove, pepper, and leather. The palate is medium-to-full-bodied, with dominant flavors of blackberries, blueberries, and black cherries laced with accents of savory herbs, cocoa, and brambly earth. Tannins are firm yet pliant, giving the wine structure without detracting from its plush and silky mouthfeel. Bright acidity gives the wine lift and brings it to a long finish.
