Introduction:
The 2019 Pedro Parra y Familia "Imaginador" is a distinctive red wine from the Itata Valley in Chile, crafted by renowned terroir expert Pedro Parra. This wine showcases the potential of old-vine Cinsault, reflecting the unique characteristics of the region’s granite soils and coastal influences.

Terrior:
Sourced from five vineyards in Guarilihue Alto, the vines range from 45 to 88 years old and are planted on decomposed granite soils rich in iron mica. Located approximately 15 miles from the Pacific Ocean, the area benefits from cool coastal breezes, contributing to the wine’s fresh acidity and mineral complexity.

Appearance:
Pale ruby red, clear and bright, indicative of a light-bodied red wine.

Nose:
Aromas of red currant, raspberry, and smoke from fresh crushed rocks, complemented by floral notes and a hint of blood orange.

Palate:
Light-bodied with flavors of tart red cherries, strawberries, and a touch of over-extracted black tea. The wine exhibits significant acidity, with chalky tannins and a juicy, tangy citrus profile.

Finish:
Ethereally light with a lingering, peppery finish, leaving a refreshing aftertaste.

Overall Impression:
A beautifully made, ethereal Cinsault that balances fresh red fruit flavors with smoky, mineral undertones. Its light body and vibrant acidity make it an intriguing and highly drinkable wine, showcasing the unique terroir of the Itata Valley.
