The Dão is located in north-central Portugal and is one of the oldest wine regions in the county. Situated on a plateau and surrounded on three sides by mountain ranges, the Dão is comprised of sandy, well-drained soil and has a temperate climate characterized by wet winters and long, warm summers. This terroir yields wines that are elegant, complex, and well-balanced. Today's wine is a great representation of the rosés that are coming out of this historic region.
The 2019 Quinta de Cabriz Colheita Selecionada Rosé, a blend of 50% each of Touriga Naçional and Alfrocheiro, is a bright and refreshing thirst-quencher that is redolent of cherries, strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries, with hints of pomegranates and citrus fruits. These generous fruit characters are brought into balance by bracing acidity, making it the perfect foil for all kinds of foods.
