Schramsberg’s founders and Champagne enthusiasts Jack and Jamie Davies were looking for a better quality of life that involved their favorite beverage. Believing they could craft sparkling wine on the West Coast that rivaled bubbles from The Motherland, they purchased a run-down winery on a mountainside in Saint Helena.

The Davies' wild leap of faith paid off. They hit the big time in 1972 when President Richard Nixon served their Blanc de Blancs at the historic “Toast to Peace” in Beijing, China. They were ON THE WORLD WINE STAGE and it was a well-deserved honor. All of their cuvées are simply stunning, garnering numerous awards and high ratings from the wine press.

The Schramsberg Blanc de Noirs, a blend of 90% pinot noir and 10% chardonnay, is sourced from vineyards in Sonoma, Mendocino, Marin, and Napa Counties. Complex and well-balanced year after year, it is always a stunner that rivals its counterparts from across The Pond.

2020 Schramsberg Blanc de Noirs
92 points, Wine Spectator:
"Luxurious and rich, yet pinpoint in focus, with expressive apple and strawberry flavors highlighted by brioche, ginger, and spices.” 8/23)

2021 Schramsberg Blanc de Noirs
92 points, Wine Enthusiast:
"This wine is lush and lively, with aromas of yellow plum, Pink Lady apple, cinnamon, and notes of jasmine tea on the nose. The flavors on the palate are fresh, crisp, yellow apple, white peach, pink grapefruit, fine mousse mid-palate, toasted almond slivers, with layers of mineral, citrus, and a mouth-watering supple finish." (12/24)
