PRODUCT OVERVIEW/REVIEWS:
Schramsberg’s founders and Champagne enthusiasts Jack and Jamie Davies were looking for a better quality of life that involved their favorite beverage. Believing they could craft sparkling wine on the West Coast that rivaled bubbles from The Motherland, they purchased a run-down winery on a mountainside in Saint Helena.
The Davies' wild leap of faith paid off. They hit the big time in 1972 when President Richard Nixon served their Blanc de Blancs at the historic “Toast to Peace” in Beijing, China. They were ON THE WORLD WINE STAGE and it was a well-deserved honor. All of their cuvées are simply stunning, garnering numerous awards and high ratings from the wine press.
The 2020 Schramsberg Blanc de Noirs, a blend of 90% pinot noir and 10% chardonnay, is sourced from vineyards in Sonoma, Mendocino, Marin, and Napa Counties. It expresses generous and layered aromas of red apple, juicy pear, ripe orange, and mango. The palate opens with bright pink grapefruit, apricot, and pineapple notes. A dense, juicy center leads to a lingering finish. (from winery notes)
