Terra del Barolo is a thriving cooperative established in 1858 by Arnaldo Rivera. His vision was not only to work in harmony with the region's dedicated farmers to produce distinctive wines, but also to create an association that would benefit all members from farmers to winemakers. Today, the cooperative boasts over 500 members who continue to produce world class wines loved by legions of consumers as well as members of the wine press.
The Cru Bussia is one of the most historical vineyard districts located in Monforte d’Alba, southeast of the village of Barolo. Its massive viticultural gifts, including an amphitheater shape that protects the vines, and fossil-laden Tortonia soils mixed with sand and limestone, bring forth wines with immense power, excellent structure, and extraordinary depth of flavor.
The 2019 Arnaldo Rivera Barolo Bussia was sourced from two sites within the Bussia Cru with vines planted in 1969 and 2022. Aged for 30 months in oak casks, it is medium- to full-bodied, with aromas and flavors of red berries, licorice, and spice laced with hints of tobacco and earthy notes. The palate is structured yet refined, with firm tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, harmonious finish. (winemaker notes)

94 points, Wine Spectator:
"A combination of cherry, mint, tar and licorice marks this solidly structured red. The muscular tannins and lively acidity are assertive today, yet overall this shows balance and fine length.

93 points, James Suckling:
"A fragrant nose with cherries, dried wild strawberries, spicy herbs, cardamom and citrus peel. Dried flowers, too. Medium- to full-bodied, crunchy and vibrant with firm and dusty tannins and fresh red berry character. Tangy and zesty finish with mineral chalkiness to it."

92 points, Wine Advocate:
"The Arnaldo Rivera 2019 Barolo Bussia shows a dark and savory side of Nebbiolo with thick concentration, dried cherry, plum, spice and oak-driven aromas of toast and tobacco. The tannins are prominent, and they seem to come both from the fruit and the barrel aging process. You get a powerful and very rich expression of Bussia in this wine."
