Production & Aging:
This whisky was distilled in Canada using a bourbon-style mash bill of corn, wheat, and malted barley. Originally intended for short-term aging in a cold warehouse, the distillery changed ownership, and these barrels were forgotten. After 15 years in the cold Canadian climate, the barrels were rediscovered and bottled at cask strength without chill filtration.
Distinctive Characteristics:
Rare Perfection 15-Year-Old offers a unique profile with its high proof and extended aging in a cold environment, resulting in pronounced fruity and sweet notes balanced by a notable ethanol presence.
Ideal Serving Suggestions:
Given its high proof and rich flavor profile, it's recommended to enjoy this whisky neat to appreciate its complexity. However, adding a few drops of water can help open up the flavors and mellow the ethanol intensity. It's also suggested to try it in a Manhattan to explore its potential in cocktails.
