Vincent Girardin comes from a family with deep roots in Burgundy and an estate that dates back to the 17th century. With a childhood steeped in wine culture, he became passionate about wine at an early age. In 1980, at the age of 19, he decided to strike out on his own and began with the two hectares of vines he inherited from his parents. The quality of his wines gained worldwide recognition, especially after the arrival of winemaker Eric Germain, allowing him to expand his business, focusing primarily on the great white and red wines of the Côte de Beaune.
Vincent Girardin sold the estate in 2012, but Eric Germain has stayed on and has continued the Vincent Girardin tradition of crafting wines that are pure expressions of Burgundian terroir.
The 2021 Vincent Girardin Bourgogne Rouge Cuvée Saint-Vincent is sourced from select vineyards with clay and limestone soils throughout the Côte de Beaune and Hautes-Côtes de Beaune. Aged for six months in seasoned oak barrels, it has enticing aromas and flavors of blackcurrants, raspberries, cherries, and strawberries. The palate is medium-bodied, silky in texture, and juicy, with supple tannins and bright, balancing acidity. The finish is laced with subtle notes of wet stone and bramble, a nod to the terroir.
