Introduction:
The 2022 Château Lalande Saint-Julien is a refined and structured Bordeaux blend from one of the most prestigious Left Bank appellations. This wine delivers the classic elegance of Saint-Julien, balancing ripe dark fruit with well-integrated oak, fine tannins, and excellent aging potential.

Terrior:
Situated in Saint-Julien, this wine benefits from deep gravel soils that provide excellent drainage, promoting concentrated fruit and refined tannins. The proximity to the Gironde estuary moderates the climate, ensuring even ripening and maintaining freshness.

Appearance:
Deep ruby with purple hues, indicating youth and vibrancy.

Nose:
Aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, and plum, interwoven with cedar, tobacco, graphite, and subtle vanilla notes from oak aging.

Palate:
Medium to full-bodied with a firm tannic structure. Ripe black fruit flavors are complemented by layers of earth, pencil shavings, and spice. Bright acidity and fine-grained tannins create a balanced and elegant mouthfeel.

Finish:
Long and persistent, with lingering dark fruit, tobacco, and mineral nuances.

Overall Impression:
A classic and polished Saint-Julien with excellent depth and aging potential. This wine will continue to evolve beautifully in bottle, making it an excellent choice for cellaring. Perfect with roasted meats, duck, or aged cheeses.

93 points, James Suckling:

"Hazelnut, chocolate, and cedar to the black cherries and cassis. A touch of paprika and white pepper as well. This is ripe, fleshy, and well-structured, with polished tannins and a long, nicely creamy finish." (12/12/24)

91 points, Wine Enthusiast:
"The wine, still very young, has spicy, toasty aromas and layers of black fruits. It is going to be a fine wine, rich and full-bodied. The acidity will soften as the wine matures. Drink from 2027. (10/1/24)
