Cantina Pino is owned by the Vacca family situated in the hills of Barbaresco. Originally part of the famous cooperative Produttori del Barbaresco (Adriano Vacca was one of its founders), the winery struck out on its own in 1997 at the urging of fourth-generation caretaker Renato Vacca, who wanted to craft wines without working under the constraints of the cooperative. A graduate of the Royal Enological School in Alba, Renato, along with his wife and partner, Franca, has successfully married Old-World tradition and modern winemaking technology.
Viticultural Features: The Vacca family uses no chemical fertilizers, and vineyards are managed with extreme respect for the environment.
Winemaking Techniques: The Vacca family wines are neither fined nor filtered.
