PRODUCT OVERVIEW:
Domaine du Mont Verrier is a 17th-century estate located in the heart of Beaujolais. In recent years it had been in a state of disrepair and in danger of being destroyed, but its fate was changed when Gérard Legrand purchased it in 2007 and started to revive the property. In addition to restoring the buildings and opening a guest house, he planted 40 hectares of vineyards, thus combining his respect for hospitality and culture with his love of wine.

The 2018 Domaine Mont Verrier Beaujolais-Village is made from 100% gamay noir grown in soils of clay, limestone, and shale. Aged for seven months in a combination of stainless steel and concrete vats, it is medium-bodied, plush, and silky, with aromas and flavors of kirsch, red cherries, and red currants laced with herbs, stony minerality, and hints of baking spice. The tannins are pliant, the acidity is bright, and the finish is long.
